Well the 3 of them have had snotty noses for about 2 weeks, hope they feel better soon. It has finally cooled down here! The twins are talking so much more! Here is a mix of things one or both of them say: Ball, box, bag, bubble, Bubba (one of the dogs), up, more, meow, rope, diaper, dip (sounds more like DEEP), no, baby, banana, tickle, umbrella, blue, yellow, roar, and gorilla. There are others but I can't think of them right now.
We wonder how survives, he barely eats anything. At every meal/snack, Jordan eats about 3 times the amount that Ryan does. Still so scary, we are not making a big deal out of it. He does want to drink & he will fill up on his high calorie milk, then won't eat. So we stopped giving him a full sippy cup & started giving him a tiny bit in a child (open) cup. Then not giving him more until he eats something. We have an evaluation October 29th with Baylor Hospital's Feeding Therapy, they have several different types of feeding therapy. We don't want him to checked into the In Patient therapy but we would like them to help us. Both kids are more open to trying new things but they are typically rejected. We are still trying.
We have been doing toddler beds now for almost a month. That was a pretty smooth transition, much better than we expected! I am glad we did the switch when we did! We did have to purchase a room divider because Jordan would not leave Ryan alone, so neither of them got any sleep. Once we got the room divider & the room darkening shade, it has been smooth sailing. They both seemed to prefer the floor to their beds for a couple weeks, we moved the beds to where they were sleeping on the floor & that solved that problem.
We have one of those cute little Turtle sandboxes, well little is the key word! It only fits Jordan now! Last week Jordan was playing in it & started screaming, but then was fine & went & played with something else. Well Ryan decided it was his turn. And he started screaming too. Bill & I ran over to him & he was covered in fire ants! They were biting him all up! Poor baby! I grabbed the garden hose & started spraying them off him. Oh, the poor sweetie has bites from his toes to his neck. The bites itch really bad & hurt at the same time. I popped online about an hr later to find a good remedy for him so that he wouldn't suffer & I found out that me grabbing the hose made it worse. The water being sprayed on the ants made them bite him harder trying to latch on. I feel so bad! Jordan has about 10 bites on her foot & one hand but Ryan as about 50 bites. We are getting a new sandbox & will treat the ground really well before we set it up. This box is 5x5 and will hold 900 pounds of sand!
Over the last week we have been putting the twins on the "big" potty more & they seem to like it because it is "big". Ryan does really well with pottying, he will use the potty (both kinds) about every time we put him on it. He just doesn't know how to tell us yet that he has to go. He does really well at holding it! We are so proud of him. Jordan on the other hand will use the potty but it is less frequently, we are thrilled if she goes on the potty once every 2 or 3 days. Guess we are not offering it to her enough or she just doesn't care about wet/yucky pants. We are not pushing them to use the potty, they seem to really have fun with it.
