Our Family's Health Report

Here is the latest:
Ryan is going to the hospital Friday for an EEG to check his brain waves & make sure he is okay. I have concerns about an odd blinking, so they are gonna hook him up. He has to stay awake for 6 hrs which is rough since he usually stays awake for only 3 hrs at a time. On February 23rd Ryan will be put under for an upper GI endoscopy and biopsy, plus the doctors will be inserting the acid impedance probe that stays in overnight. The next day we will drop off the acid impedance probe, the specimen cup samples (they are checking his "outputs"), and then they will do a sweat test. Hopefully after all of this we will have answers to why my little man is so little. Jordan is about 3 pounds heavier than him.

Jordan is strong & healthy. March 1st she will have a follow up echocardiogram to out her PDA.

What is a PDA? Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is a heart problem that occurs soon after birth in some babies. In PDA, abnormal blood flow occurs between two of the major arteries connected to the heart. Before birth, the two major arteries—the aorta and the pulmonary artery—are connected by a blood vessel called the ductus arteriosus. This vessel is an essential part of fetal blood circulation. Within minutes or up to a few days after birth, the vessel is supposed to close as part of the normal changes occurring in the baby's circulation. In some babies, however, the ductus arteriosus remains open (patent). This opening allows oxygen-rich blood from the aorta to mix with oxygen-poor blood from the pulmonary artery. This can put strain on the heart and increase blood pressure in the lung arteries.

Bill is doing great! He is healthy as a 40 yr old horse! Just normal tired, back hurts & wrist hurts. Nothing he can't handle.

As for me.. Well back in May I had a mammogram and it showed something tiny on the right side. They wanted me to come back when I stopped using the breastpump, so I will go Tuesday for a follow up. Hoping it is nothing.
