Trying to Get Rid of the Cat

is proving to be harder than we expected. Yesterday i packed up everything thing that belongs to the cat, EVERYTHING! Put it all in my car to prepare me for this horrible day. I made phone calls & the Humane Society said they will take anything we want to donate, toys/litterboxes/anything. So we packed up the kids & cat off we go to the Humane Society, then breakfast.

Well breakfast had to wait. At the Humane Society, they took all the donations and then started to work on the cat. Asked why we were dropping him off, i said he bit Ryan twice. They said that they can not take him until he has been quarantined for 14 days. BUT I can take him to Fort Worth Animal Shelter & they can quarantine him, we can pick him back up and bring him back to the Humane Society to be adopted out at the end of the 14 days. Okay, sounds good! Off to Fort Worth Animal Shelter we go.

There is a line outside of people dropping pets off. Finally it is my turn. I tell him we just need to quarantine Oscar, they ask for my ID. They see that I don't live in Fort Worth and they say they can not help me. That I need to go to the Azle Animal Control. We call Azle Animal Control & we don't live in Azle city limits, so they can't help us. So we call Parker County Animal Control & yes that is who can help us! But they are full & not accepting cats right now.

Problem is we left all of Oscar's belongings at the Humane Society as a donation. just wonderful! This is beginning to be such a problem & a HUGE headache! By this time it is almost noon & we have yet to have breakfast. and the cat has gotten sick in my car twice!

So off to IHOP we go, the kids will eat their pancakes.

As we are there Bill calls the Parker County Sheriff's office who handles animal bites. They are to come out to our house anytime now & do a report of the bites on Ryan, look at the pictures and they will take the cat to the Parker County Animal Shelter to quarantine him. They HAVE to take him if the Sheriff shows up with him. From there we can either pick him up in 14 days to take him back to the Humane Society or he can just stay at that Animal Shelter to try to be adopted out but will probably just be put to sleep.

This has become such a headache. I feel horrible enough as it is. But I have dealt with this cat pooing on my carpet for almost 10yrs & now he is biting my babies. Why is it so hard to get rid of him?

Hopefully this Sheriff will show up soon & this will all be over with.
