And his belief is that we do not have NOT have serious foundation issues that require pilars under the house. So that saves us $17,000!!! He thinks we have a tree root issue and we need to remove 3 or 4 large trees and a couple of large bushes. Our septic has also been affected by these trees & needs to be dug up & replaced. We are hoping his thoughts/beliefs are correct and that we do not need pilars.
So now we are canceling the foundation people & estimates. Getting quotes to move and/or remove the trees & bushes and costs to replace our broken septic system. We are guessing that work is still going to run approximately $10,000 or more, but we won't know for sure until we have estimates. So this will still require a loan which will still require us to sell the boat and/or me get a job.
If the engineer is correct, then in a couple months the house should settle back down and we can make repairs to the brick, walls, and flooring. If he was not correct? Well I don't want to think about that.
