OOOPs! No Posts Since September

Shame on me!  Yikes, I didn't realize it had been that long.  Well alot has gone on during these last 6 weeks.

Bill took a trip to Florida for work and when he returned his company announced they were closing their doors at some point in the next 9 months and everyone will be without jobs!

He will have 3.5 months of severance pay, his paid vacation & they will automatically make him vested in his 401k plan so that he won't lose out on that money. So he has been looking at jobs locally, in Virginia (to be closer to family but the cost of living is insane), in NC (as he has a connection on a job there) and we think he has an interview in FL after Thanksgiving.

We have contacted 5 realtors to give us their ideas for selling our house.  Only 3 have gotten back to us, only 2 have actually looked at the house.  One said she would price our house at $107 per sq ft (the average in our area right now is $87-$90 per sq ft) so she is out of her mind to think that we would get that price!  Another realtor pretty much said we wouldn't sell it for what we owe on it and call her back in 4 months (she didn't even look at our house).  Then a guy (who sold our last house) came out on Saturday morning but we haven't heard back yet.  We know that we would have a slim to no chance on selling our house for more than what we owe on it.  There is a foreclosure in our neighborhoood, two short sales & a couple still under construction.  And then we refinanced less than a year ago for a lower interest rate.....

Bill has applied for over 40 jobs.  He had one phone interview last week, he has an in-person interview in an hour, he has another phone interview & in-person interview tomorrow, another phone interview on Thursday and then next week he will have an in-person interview with his first phone interview.  On most of these jobs, in order to have a good salary- he barely qualifies for the job or if he does qualify for the job then it pays about $5k less than what he makes now.  Just not a good time to be job hunting!

Bill will have surgery on his right arm/wrist on November 18th.  He has had alot of pain in the last year and they are going to chip away at the bone in his wrist that has healed improperly from a break and they will give some relief to the nerve in his arm.  Is it a good time for surgery while job hunting?  No, but better to do it now & recover and start a new job and then have surgery.  He is in pain when he writes, types, tries to pick up the kids and other daily tasks.  I really hope this helps him out.

I just got the Blogger app on my cell phone, so hopefully I can post more pictures and messages faster in the future!
