Tornados

Yesterday was awful. I put kids down for a nap at 12:30 and the weather radio would not stop going off. Then they said rotation 3 miles north of Willow Park to seek shelter and get away from windows. Terrified because the power went off and I could not check the weather and this sounded REALLY close to our house! I call Bill at work and stay on the phone with him until the warning passes us.  Then our power comes back on, thankfully & I can see there are 2 tornadoes on the ground, one in Dallas & one in the Arlington area.  Here is what the news showed, the yellow circle is the tornado in Arlington.  Bill's work:  Bell Helicopter is right beside Trinity Blvd!!

So I send him this picture and hope he is okay.  He says the tornado sirens are going off in his offices.  Thankfully he was okay!  Then reports of hail pea size to softball size in the area of his work and all I can think about is his new car!  Thankfully it was not damaged either!

Then I see this on the news:
http://www.nbcdfw.com/video/#!/weather/stories/Dallas-Tornado-Lifts-Scores-of-18-Wheelers/146054615  and 18 wheeler trucks are being tossed in the air like they were nothing.  So scary!  I can't imagine what people who lived near there were going through!  DFW Airport was shut down and no planes were allowed in and none took off last night until all planes were inspected for hail damage!  We fly to Florida very early Friday morning, hope the flights are back to normal by then.

I watched the news coverage all during nap time.  Another tornado was way north of us near where a friend works and his wife couldn't get in touch with him for almost an hr, so scary for her!  Thankfully she got him on the phone after the storms had passed and he was fine.

The night time news cast said there were 15 unconfirmed tornadoes in our area yesterday!  How scary!
