Operation: Bye-Bye Bottles

This morning I washed & put away all the bottles & nips! They are prepped for selling

The twins will be 16 months this week, it is time for them to be OFF bottles. So out came the sippy cups & sippy cups ONLY today.

The twins have never had juice, so we have been doing water in sippy cups & thawed breastmilk in bottles (yes, we still have frozen breastmilk- lots of it). In the past I have offered milk in the bottle & they have refused. But it is time to make the change, they are not babies anymore.

So at breakfast they looked at me like, "mama, where is our bottles?" Ryan drank about an ounce of milk from the sippy, Jordan just pushed it away. At 1st snack, they both refused. At lunch, Ryan refused any & Jordan took an oz or two. After their nap, Jordan climbed in the bouncy seat ready for that bottle & was suprized it wasn't there. For dinner they both finished their sippy cups of milk. In total it was only about 6oz of milk for the day. I was warned this would happen, so I am not freaking out. I think that by dinner, they were "getting it". I hope.

We will see how tomorrow goes, hopefully they will drink even more milk in the cups.

  1. Good job mama! Yes, be prepared in the morning for more "refusal". My experience was, by the end of the first day, Bella was drinking milk from her sippy (didnt finish though, but no fit). THe next morning. siting on the couch waiting for bottle.. gave her a sippy and she took a sip and then threw another fit. Byt lunch though she was better. Now she drinks at least 2 9oz sippys a day (morning and night) and sometimes at lunch to.

I know you don't want to go too long if they keep refusing, but they will get it, and catch back up. =)
